Overcome Your Limiting Beliefs

Do you want to get rid of your self limiting beliefs?

This summary of the book The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz presents four powerful insights on how you can stop your self limiting beliefs.

If you want to become an entrepreneurial leader, then you definitely want to read this article to the end.

1. Be impeccable with your words

The use of words is the most powerful tool that we humans have.

What we say can positively or negatively impact ourselves and other people.

It can build or destroy us.

We have to listen carefully and understand that the word is also a self revealing mirror.

This is probably the most important insight you will gain from reading this article.

If someone gossips about a person, then the gossiping person has probably many personal problems.

People express themselves based on who and how they are.

In other words, if you are constantly negative about other people, you are probably a negative person yourself.

In this case, use the mirror and work on your personal development.

Use your words wisely, also with yourself.

Start telling yourself how wonderful you are.

You can change yourself by changing your use of words.

2. Do not take anything personal

Whatever happens around you, do not take it personally.

It is not always about you, do not be selfish.

Others have their own opinion according to their belief system, so nothing they think about you is really about you, it is about them.

3. Do not make assumptions

We make the assumption that everyone sees life the way we do.

We assume that others think the way we think, feel the way we feel, and judge the way we judge.

This is why most people have a fear of being themselves around others.

They think everyone else will judge them like they judge everyone else.

Stop judging others and you will soon stop caring about whether other people will judge you.

Your energy and time is limited, manage what is negative but focus on what is positive.

4. Always do your best

Everything is alive and changing all the time and therefore, your personal best might usually be of high quality but there will be other times when it barely meets your quality standards.

Regardless of your circumstances, keep doing your best, not more and not less.

If you always do more than your best, you will eventually burn out and become less productive.

These four agreements need to be practised repeatedly.

Everything that you have ever learned, such as bicycling, driving, or writing, you learned through repetition.

What is the point of following these four agreements?

They help us to attain true freedom to express ourselves.

Awareness is always the first step, because if you are not aware, there is nothing you can change.

Are you aware of all the problems that your self limiting beliefs create?

The next sentence will shock you.

You could die at any moment.

It sounds harsh but this thought can help to motivate you to become the person you ultimately want to be.

If you would live only one more year, would you continue limiting your beliefs or start becoming the person you want to be?

I hope you found this article inspiring.
